Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa)
A visitor is an individual who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and is legally authorized to enter Canada on a temporary basis for purposes such as tourism, visiting family or friends, or conducting business.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for a visitor visa, applicants must:
- Possess a valid travel document (e.g., passport)
- Be in good health
- Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions
- Demonstrate to an immigration officer that they have strong ties to their home country (e.g., employment, property, financial assets, or family)
- Convince the officer that they will leave Canada at the end of their visit
- Have sufficient financial resources to support themselves during their stay in Canada (the required amount depends on the length of stay and accommodation arrangements)
Inadmissibility:
An individual may be deemed inadmissible to Canada for several reasons, including but not limited to:
- Criminal activity
- Human rights violations
- Involvement in organized crime

Super Visa
The Super Visa is a long-term, multiple-entry visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to visit Canada for extended periods—up to two years at a time—without the need to renew their status.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for a Super Visa, applicants must:
- Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Apply from outside of Canada
- Involvement in organized crime
- Provide a signed letter of invitation from their child or grandchild in Canada that includes:
- A written commitment of financial support for the duration of the visit
- A list of household members of the host
- A copy of the host’s Canadian citizenship or permanent resident document
- Provide proof of medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that:
- Is valid for a minimum of one year from the date of entry
- Offers at least CAD $100,000 in emergency coverage
- Is fully paid (insurance quotes are not accepted)
- Undergo and pass an immigration medical examination
- Be deemed admissible to Canada and meet all other applicable requirements
